I have been working hard this month, creating content every day for Blogmas. It has been so fun stretching my creative muscles and writing so much. There is no better way to improve than do, which is why I am so fond of events like Blogtober and Blogmas. They allow me to improve my writing so much in such a short period of time! But today I am exhausted! So I want to do something a little different and have someone else come up with my content. I will be completing the 2021 Holiday tag today!

I first saw this tag on Mind.Beauty.Simplicity. and I loved all of the questions. They are so festive and they allow me to take about one of my favorite times of the year! So I knew I had to squeeze this tag in this month.

I have been completing book tags over on my Book Blog for years, I have always enjoyed them. I love seeing how creative people can get with the questions and answers! In fact, I have created my fair share of book tags, so if you enjoy creating posts like this and you enjoy reading, go check out my book blog!

But anyway, as it is the middle of the month, and the middle of blogmas, I am in serious need of some festive holiday inspiration! Let’s hope answering the questions of the 2021 Holiday Tag will bring me just that!

The 2021 Holiday Tag Questions

1. What is Your Favorite Holiday Movie?

All of them? Is that an answer?

Just kidding, but I am a massive fan of holiday movies. I watch Hallmark Christmas movies throughout the month of December and love the magical Santa movies just as much. Which explains why my favorite holiday movie of all time is…

The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause

I mean, the whole franchise of movies is the best, but if I had to pick one, the third is by far the best. Something about Jack Frost and the drama with Mrs. Claus always made it such a fun watch.

I love rewatching this holiday movie every year!

But, I will say, The Christmas Chronicles, one of Netflix’s holiday movies, comes in a very close second!

2. What is the Best Way to Celebrate a Saturday in December?

For me, the best way to spend a Saturday during the holidays is in my home, alone with my dogs! But that’s because I am a huge introvert and homebody.

Allow me to set the scene…

  • It is chilly outside, either rainy or windy
  • I am cuddled up in bed after a delicious meal of macaroni and cheese, or some other comfort food
  • My dogs are cuddled up with me
  • My favorite holiday movie is playing (The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause)
  • A steaming cup of hot cocoa in my hand
  • A smile on my face

There you have it, the recipe for a perfect Saturday night in December for me! Oh, I am craving this so much right now!

3. What is Your Favorite Holiday Song?

Again, do I have to pick just one?

I’ll be honest, working retail for so many years, I was definitely turned off from holiday music for the longest time. But ever since I quit, I have started to find enjoyment in the sounds of the season again.

So, if I had to pick just one holiday song it would be…

I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

This is definitively the best holiday song out there, you cannot change my mind that. As soon as it comes on the radio, a huge smile spreads across my face.

4. What Do you Typically Eat During the Holidays?

I eat a lot during the holiday season. Sweets, savory foods, and everything in between. I’m not very picky.

But, one of my favorite things to eat during the holiday season is my mom’s homemade enchiladas! They are so delicious, and make me feel all warm and cozy inside! Mom’s homemade food is always comforting for me.

5. What is Your Favorite Holiday Treat?

Again, all of them!

But, out of all the traditional cookies and treats my family makes, one of my favorites is Russian tea cakes.

They are such a simple cookie, but something about them brings me so much joy. I think it is the powdered sugar and the crumbly inside. I don’t know, but they are a top-notch holiday treat!

6. What Fictional Character Would You Want to Spend the Holidays With?

Oh, this question is right up my alley! I have about 100 favorite fictional characters. But I definitely wouldn’t want to spend the holidays with all of them!

I think I would choose all of the characters from one of my favorite books The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This book is set in a magical circus that runs from dusk until dawn. The way Morgenstern describes the food and magic makes me think it would be the perfect place to spend the holidays.

7. Can you Name all of Santa’s Reindeer?

I actually have no idea, so let’s see. There are 8 of them right?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer Vixen, Comet Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and of course Rudolph!

Is that all of them? So I guess there are 9 reindeer if you include Rudolph, which I do. I mean, I named my car after Rudolph, I have to include him.

I can thank the classic Christmas carol for knowing all these names!

8. Where Would you Like to Visit During the Holiday Season?

Well, I am not much of a traveler so I wouldn’t want to go anywhere! Home. I would want to visit home.

But for the sake of the 2021 Holiday Tag, I will choose a secluded cabin in the forest, only a 30-minute drive to a local grocery store and coffee shop. Somewhere where I can spend some time alone, with no obligatory social interactions.

But of course, I would need WIFI!

9. Do You Like Recieving Gifts or Giving Gifts Better?

Considering my love language is receiving gifts, I think the answer to this question is pretty obvious.

Plus, I always find so much pressure in figuring out the perfect gift for everyone on my list. Like I feel like one person will be upset if they don’t get as good a gift as someone else. I know, it is a stupid way of thinking, but that’s what my brain does.

But, if you are like me and struggle with the pressure of finding gifts, here are some of the gift guides I have created. Hopefully, these help you as much as they have helped me!

10. What is the Best Gift You’ve Ever Recieved?

Wow, I think this is the only difficult question to answer in the entirety of the 2021 Holiday Tag. Except for all the ones that made me choose from all my favorites!

But it is hard to think of the best gift I have ever received! As my love language is receiving gifts, I am particularly fond of the thoughtful gifts. The ones that took some thinking. Someone who is notorious for that is my dad. He comes up with the most thoughtful gifts.

I am a bookstagrammer. You can find my bookish Instagram account here! One year for a gift, my dad bought me a ton of props, lighting, and how-to books for photographers. It was something so unexpected, but let me know that he actually listens to me when I talk about things I enjoy.

Or, when my sister wrote me a poem. That made me bawl my eyes out!

It is gifts like this that make me want to cry! I appreciate when people put a lot of thought into gifts.

The holidays are my favorite time of year, and I have so enjoyed taking this time to write about winter. Blogmas and Blogtober will always be my favorite times for blogging.
