I have talked a lot about what I specifically love about fall on this blog. Things like pumpkin-flavored everything and watching all the horror films I can pack into a movie marathon. There is just so much to love about the Autumn season, I could probably write about it year-round. But I won’t, I promise.

But something I have been trying to do recently is enjoying the little joys that life offers. And there are a lot of them. Lately, I have been getting caught up in everything and anything that annoys me. And I have been just plain unhappy. But there is so much for me to find joy in, I really am trying to focus on those more these days.

Fall offers so many of these small joys! This season is so full of color and warmth, I can surely find things to focus on rather than what is upsetting or annoying.

1. Decorations in my City

My city does a fantastic job of adding a little festive fun to our daily lives, and they have gotten better and better each year. The best time of year for these decorations is Christmas, but they haven’t been doing to bad during Fall. With little scarecrows and hay bales scattered around, it is hard not to smile as I am driving to work.

2. Cooler Weather

And this one is something I am trying to manifest right now as I sit in my room, sweating at one in the morning! But I have always loved cooler weather more than hot weather, I hate sweating. It honestly puts me in such a bad mood. So cooler weather, when I can cuddle under the covers with a warm cup of tea is what I love and crave right now. Manifesting!

3. Sweaters

This one is definitely connected to cooler weather, but sweaters are by far the best fashion ever. I just look better in fall fashion than I do in summer clothes.

4. Tomato Basil Soup

Dang, we are getting specific here. Yes, all soup is more delicious during the fall months, but my absolute favorite soup is a tomato basil soup with a cream base. Seriously, the most delicious and warming meal, and it helps with my anxiety so much. Don’t ask me why.

Anyone have any good recipes? Hit me up! I feel like cooking!

5. Shorter Days and Longer Nights

I am a night owl through and through. I am not a happy camper in the morning. Anyway, with the hours of darkness getting longer, I have more time in my natural habitat! I hate that work has to go and try to make me work during normal work hours! How rude!

6. Hot Drinks

Tell me you are ever craving a hot tea when it is 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside because I know you are lying. Like, I crave ice cream when it’s freezing, but there is something different about warm foods and drinks. I love tea during Autumn.

7. Pumpkin Pie Chapstick

Yup, I said it was the little things. I was recently going through my bedside table when I found my pumpkin pie chapstick. My face brightened into the biggest smile, it really made my night of cleaning so joyful. I mean, I could use that chapstick all year, but definitely hits different in September and October.

8. Pumpkin Bread

Of course, I have mentioned how I love pumpkin-flavored everything, but pumpkin bread is that yummy warm treat that I am always craving during this time of year

There is so much for me to be happy about this time of year, so much, and all I need to do is try and focus on these things. Of course, it is okay to not always find joy in life, but focusing on these things might make me a little happier than I have been as of late.

What small things do you love about fall? Let me know in the comments below, not matter how obscure or specific they are.
