What is Solid Perfume?

Solid Perfume is a method of transferring fragrance to your skin. It is in a solid form, rather than the more common form of perfume, liquid. Solid perfume is usually in a balm form that you can rub on specific points on your body such as wrists and neck. It can also come in a cream form.

What are the Benefits of Solid Perfume?

Although solid perfume is much less common than liquid, there are so many benefits and reasons why it might be a better option for you. Here are a few:

1. It is more concentrated than regular perfume

Solid perfumes are packed with fragrance, they have a much higher concentration per unit than regular perfumes. A little goes a long way with solid perfume, you don’t need to use as much, saving both time and money!

2. It is easier to travel with

Have you ever tried traveling with a bottle of perfume? The anxiety of having the glass bottle break in the suitcase is almost too much to bear. Solid perfumes make a fantastic alternative to that. There is little to no risk of spilling, and it usually comes in smaller sizes, which makes it incredibly travel-friendly.

3. Perfect for your Purse

Not only are they good for travel, but solid perfumes are also great to take with you every day in your purse or bag! They are small and have little risk of spilling. Perfect for reapplication throughout the day!

4. It lasts longer

Regular perfumes are liquid and contain alcohol, which means they will eventually evaporate from your skin. With solid perfumes, you don’t get this as much, so they tend to last a lot longer on the skin. Less reapplication means you use less, which means you save more money!

5. It usually has moisturizing properties

When you find a high-quality solid perfume, they often include ingredients like shea butter, beeswax, and other oils. These all have moisturizing properties when applied to the skin.

6. It is easier to apply with more precision

I have always hated the method of spraying perfume into the air and walking into the puff. I always felt like I was wasting so much of my expensive product. However, sometimes spraying perfume directly on the skin can make it overwhelmingly strong. With solid perfume, it is way easier to control where and how much perfume you are putting on, to have the perfect fragrance for your day!

7. Cheaper than Regular Perfume

There will always be high-end expensive brands, but solid perfume tends to run less expensive than your regular perfumes.

How to Choose the Best Solid Perfume for You

Choosing any fragrance is a personal decision, however, there are a couple of things to consider before picking the perfect solid perfume.

  • Scent: Think about the fragrances you like, whether it be fruity, floral, woodsy, etc. Solid perfumes come in a huge range of scent profiles, make sure you are selecting one perfect for you! For more information on picking the right scent for you, check out this article on Vogue!
  • Ingredients: I like to use natural solid perfumes with moisturizing and high-quality ingredients. It is essential to know what ingredients you put on your body, especially on your largest organ, your skin. Also, pay attention to any potential allergens that might be in the product.
  • Price: You can get solid perfumes at various different price points. Unfortunately, the highest-quality ingredients will normally cost more, but you can definitely find some reasonably priced solid perfumes. When starting out, I would recommend getting a cheaper one to see if you even like applying fragrance this way.

Solid Perfume Recommendations

There are so many different options on the market, but if you are looking for a good solid perfume, I have some recommendations!

1. Tintark Solid Perfume Balm

For a solid perfume that is vegan, alcohol-free, and with moisturizing jojoba oil, I would recommend the Tintark brand. It is also very reasonably priced and it comes in a good range of scents.

Where to Apply Solid Perfume?

Like normal alcohol-based perfumes, you normally put solid perfume on the pulse points of your body, like your neck and wrist. Here is a list of some other common areas on your body to put solid perfume:

  • Neck
  • Wrist
  • Elbow
  • Behind the ear
  • Knee
  • Ankle

You can put your perfume perfume wherever you want a little extra fragrance, nobody will stop you! There is no perfume police here!

I am currently trying to hold back from buying more solid perfume options. I have far too many already that I need to work through before I buy any more!

However, if you do have any solid perfume recommendations, let me know in the comments below! I am very easily influenced!
