My goal for this last month of the year is to make the most of everything I do, and I am starting that with my blog, by participating in Blogmas. Because this is my first year participating in Blogmas, I couldn’t be more excited. But it is also difficult trying to decide what to post for 31 days! That’s a lot of blogging! But to help myself out, and hopefully some other lifestyle bloggers, I wanted to create a list of winter blog post ideas that can help spark some creativity in myself and others.
There is so much to love about the winter season, which means there is so much to write about! From traditions to gift-giving, this is such a fun season for blogging. And I have so many ideas in store because I have never blogged through the holiday season!
Although I have owned this blog for over a year now, I have never posted a winter-themed blog post! Each year after Blogtober, I am usually so burned out that I take an unintentional break that lasts months.
Lucky for me, however, this year I am full of motivation. Whether it is the fact that I quit my job or some deep renewed love for blogging, I am here and ready to write! I figure I might as well use that motivation while it lasts!
With all the time spent not writing about the wonderful holidays, I have a lot of winter blog post ideas stored up and ready to be written. So, I wanted to share them with others! I can’t hoard all my ideas and Christmas theme content for myself! What’s the fun in that?
What is Blogmas?
First of all, let’s talk about Blogmas! If you have been in the blogosphere for some time, you have probably heard this phrase thrown around this time of year. If not, no fear! I will explain what blogmas is right now!
Blogmas is an event that happens each year in the blogging community where people challenge themselves to post content on their website each day in December.
If that sounds familiar, that is because it is the exact same thing as what happens in October, called Blogtober. Except for this time around, you try to create 31 blog posts with the theme of winter or the holidays rather than fall and spooky.
Also, if 31 blog posts sound like a lot… because it is… I know many bloggers opt for a 13-day schedule. But in my book, you could post one winter-themed blog post in December and I would consider you a winner!
The point of Blogmas is to stretch your creative boundaries and increase engagement on your blog. But most importantly, it is to have fun. Creating content is a hobby for some, and a job for others, but for everyone, it is exciting and productive. This is why Blogmas should be fun, not a chore!
It’s not like you actually win anything!
Why am I participating in Blogmas?
Much like Blogtober, I decided to participate in Blogmas because it is a great way to push content out and engage with others.
I have been making a huge effort lately to improve my blog, learn about SEO, and gain insight into making my blog my career. What better way to continue this effort than with a month of working purely on content! I hold the mindset that the more blog posts I have out in the world, the more likely readers will find me. I’m not sure if that is true, but that’s what I am going with.
My goals for this month are as follows:
- Create a lot of content
- Use proper SEO in each post I do for Blogmas
- Engage with other bloggers
- Have fun!
The last one is the most important! I want to create content I am proud of and I want to enjoy my time doing it! Simple as that.
