But I have been on this journey long before it became popular and it wasn’t always that easy. Ever since I was in high school, I started shifting my entire bedroom decor to pastels and whites. I went from that classic blue and black color scheme that 75% of middle schoolers had to the pastel aesthetic. I loved it.
As I went on and got deeper into pastel home decor, I realized that I wanted my Christmas decor to match my regular decor. I wanted pastels and the closest thing to it was silver and white. Although that holiday decor aesthetic is beautiful, it didn’t match exactly with what I was going for.

Firstly, when you are looking at home decor for the holidays, you want to identify exactly what you are going for. When I first started decorating my home, I would go to Target or T. J. Max and just grab anything I thought was cute. Anything that caught my eye. As fun as this was, I ended up with a whole collection of random decor pieces that didn’t fit together, and that made my home look cluttered.

I think one of my favorite parts about growing up was getting to make my own decisions about home decor. There are a lot of sucky things about growing up in today’s world, but I certainly find my own joy from this.
Right now I am loving the pastel Christmas aesthetic, full of pinks, whites, and light colors. There is something about it that feels so bright, fresh, and clean. I don’t live in an area that gets snow, so I am not so much seeking cozy as I am cute when it comes to winter home decor.
